Tooth-Colored Filling Material:
Tooth-colored filling material (composite) we are able to build these teeth up and repair them in the same appointment. Combining the technical and artistic aspects of dentistry is one of our favorite things to do at Daniels Family Dentistry.
When the bacteria living on your teeth are exposed to sugar, they produce acid. This acid breaks down the outer layer of the tooth, the enamel. As this process continues, the enamel crumbles forming a cavity. To repair these our doctors remove the diseased tooth structure and prepare the tooth for a filing. Utilizing amalgam (silver) and composite (tooth-colored) filling materials we repair the defect in a way the mimics the natural tooth to restore function and esthetics.
The tooth-colored material can also be used to quickly fix a broken tooth. Below are some examples of Dr. Tom’s same-day repairs to broken front teeth. While not applicable in every situation, a composite filling is a great way to quickly restore a broken front tooth.
